What is Quota billing?

The quota billing model for transit use is the simplest method of measuring and billing for bandwidth utilisation. This is also known as Data Transfer.

Usage is measured in GB or TB, and counts the total amount of data moved across your ports.

You pre-pay for a Data Transfer allocation in 1TB blocks, and overages are calculated (where required) in GB, should you run over your allocation.

This often suits very small requirements well, however larger throughput requirements usually better suit the Committed Data Rate (CDR) model, thanks to the 95th percentile (burstable) billing approach used there.
